All we wanted to do was hitchhike across Canada before we got into the college grind – get to know our country. Everyone said travelling was educational and my best friend Shirley and I thought it would be fun and exciting to go off on our own. Neither of us expected the nightmare it would turn out to be.

Two young girls, Karen and Shirley fresh out of high school want to take off and hitchhike across Canada.Both want to enjoy the freedom and see some of the country before settling down to jobs or college. Within two days of their trip things go wrong very fast.Really enjoyed this book. I gave the book a four only because I found it to be too short. I would have love to learn more on how both of the girls over came this horrible ordeal.
I agree with the statement Karen made in this book: always listen to that inner voice.

I Hitched A Ride Into Hell A young adult novelette eBook Joan Hall Hovey Reviews
I am familiar with this authoress' work and am a huge fan. I recommended this suspense novelette to my niece who absolutely loved it. Ms Hall Hovey is a wonderful story teller whose characters are real, as they draw you into their world and you forget your own. We highly recommend this super short novel to young women everywhere...a terrific read.
Hopefully after you read this story, people, especially young adults will learn. Love all of Joans books. I'm about to download another one!
I READ EVERYTHING I CAN GET MY HANDS ON BY THIS AUTHOR. THE FIRST BOOK I READ OF JOAN HALL HOVEY WAS A KINDLE FREE BOOK. WITHIN THE FIRST FEW CHAPTERS I WAS SOLD ON HER WORK. SHE IS A GREAT WRITER!!
Great story that also teaches a good lesson to everyone to listen to their instincts and don't take unnecessary risks even for a potential fun adventure. Joan writes so descriptively that my heart was pounding in the midst of things gone wrong for Karen.
